So.. how was your week?
Monday: Mom left for Daly City to attend my cousin's wedding.. So it was only Jell, Jam, Dad, and I were here at home .. Oh! Mice was here as well since no one would take care of him while my tita and Paul together with my mom were in Daly City.. Mice is my cousin Paul's pet ferret.. (Along Came Polly) I admit I am not fond of Mice..I'm not an animal hater ok.. but he just scares the hell out of me.. He looks like a half squirrel and half hamster.. My dad basically took care of Mice.. Fed him, cleaned his cage, played with him.. It was as if his baby.. Oh I'm jealous! Hahaha! Just kidding..
Hmm.. to give you a glimpse of Mice, here's a pic.. This was taken last month.. I didn't take this picture.. I was asleep when my sister took a pic of him inside the pocket of Paul's shirt..
Tuesday: Boring piano lessons.. I'm starting to get tired of it.. I'm so lazy to practice the pieces my teacher told me to. Since my mom ain't around, we were into canned goods.. Corned beef.. Vienna sausage.. Hahaha!!! And then there was Chinese food from the nearby resto along Western.. Hunan Chicken and Gen. Cho's chicken.. I swear I really missed my mom.. I think my dad was kinda jealous na nga e.. Coz i kept saying, "sana dumating na si mommy.." And he would say, "bakit, naiinis ka na ba sa'kin?" It's not that eh, I just miss her presence.. It made me realize I really have to learn my ways in the kitchen very soon.. I'm not getting any younger.. And it would be really embarassing to my future husband,(not that I'm marrying really soon ha..) coz as of the moment, I still don't know how to cook kahit simple adobo lang.. I can cook pasta, but hello!! I can't feed my family pasta everyday right???
Wednesday: I was 30 minutes late sa work.. I hate the CTA.. Grr.. Buses were late.. So was the train.. Hmp! Busy day in the office.. Went to the gym.. Dinner at the Velarde's. Yummy tinola, with lots of spinach.. Yummy leche flan as well. My fave!
Thursday: Tried to call up the trucking companies to pick-up some shipment... Unfortunately, G&J Trucking was not yet accepting shipment going to Florida because of the hurricane a few days ago.. And then there's this other company I could not get hold of. Grr! Kainis.. Voice mail parati.. And they would not return our call.. Went grocery shopping in Argyle.. Bought more instant noodles.. grass jelly drink (black gulaman) and some ingredients for fridge cake like honey grahams, table cream, condensed milk and peach halves in syrup.. Prepared the fridge cake for Friday dinner.. Made a little one for my sis Jam as well..
Friday: Mom arrived from their trip.. Got some shot glasses as pasalubong from her.. I decided I'd collect these when I first got one from Sir Pat.
If you would look closely, most of my glasses were from San Francisco.. I got the yellow ones from Mom, the one with my name on it was from Sir Pat when he went to San Fo, the one on the farthest left at the bottom was from Jam (she went to San Fo last week as well.. Haha!) And the one on the top right was given to my dad by Maggie as pasalubong when she went to New York. Dad decided to give the glass to me.. Haha!! I have yet to buy one here in Chicago to add to my collection..
Went to the gym as scheduled.. Went swimming for more than an hour.. I think I did more than 30 laps yesterday.. Well, 36 laps=1 mile.. I know t's nothing compared to how Olympic swimmers swim 12 miles a day.. Treadmill for 10 minutes.. Table tennis.. doubles.. Kuya Rommel and I, Sir Patrick and Tito Rommel.. Guess who won??? Who else?? Hahaha!!! Nice game.. Adrenaline rush..
Dinner at home... Mom cooked nilaga, rellenong bangus (actually she ordered it last Sunday and just stored it in the freezer) and ginataang alimasag.. Whew!!! The last one was my fave.. Actually my mom knows that I don't eat nilaga that much so she cooked some crabs.. Surprisingly, the crabs were fat.. Ooohh.. I love the aligi.. Did i spell it right? Yummy! Of course my dad was observing me again, he does that everytime I eat seafood.. That's because I'm allergic to it.. He tells me when I've had enough.. Pero kung ano un bawal, yun ung masarap e..
After the sumptuous dinner, mom brought out the dessert I made last Thursday. The fridge cake.. At first, I was really hesitant to admit that it was I who prepared the dessert.. Kasi they (my friends) know that I don't know how to cook/prepare any food.. They were surprised nga e.. Hahaha!! I'm more into a bit of baking or making simple desserts rather than cooking.. Tamad lang ako e.. Hayy.. Promise I'll start learning soon na..
Saturday: Even though I slept at 3 am, I woke up so early.. Decided to go with my mom, dad and tita to the Sto. Niño celebration.. I fell asleep while listening to the welcome remarks.. And fell asleep once more during homily. Bad no?
Hayy.. It's Saturday and I'm stuck here at home right now.. Alone. My parents and Jell went to Westmont to attend a birthday party. I'm too old for that! Jam went to see a concert..Bumming around..Fell asleep for a while.. Cooked Lucky Me instant pancit canton with calamansi for merienda.. And here I am right now.. Updating my blog.. Hahaha!! Checking out friends' blogs as well.. Peace! I'm out..
